A Dinky World is a world that looks rural, but is actually an advanced society whose residents have futuristic technology purely for convenience, and never as a substitute for individual ingenuity and personal connections.
They learned a long time ago: that the richness of life is found in small things and simple pleasures, like kindness and friendship, known as The Dinky Way. Become friends with everyone right now, as they divulge some their most personal secrets (just for you) below!
FILBERT
– BFF with Basil, Hazil, Leo & Mr. Biscuits.
– He loves being around and talking to plants, trees and flowers, and being a vegan farmer.
– Filbert adores cupcakes & flying in his sky skimmer.
– He’s trusting, good-natured, and easily bossed around by his house AI Jinger with a “J.”
JINGER – HOUSE AI
– House AI to Filbert.
– Jinger with a “J” is a full charge AI.
– She’s a snarky, bossy, know-it-all who rules Filbert with an iron rod, yet is loyal and protective of him.
– She complains about it, but really she loves to vacuum, and has a crush on the toaster.
– BFF with Filbert, Hazil, Leo & Mr. Biscuits.
– He loves to listen and is very patient, so everyone comes to him for advice and counseling.
– Allocentric; except if anyone gets into his cranberry muffins – so hands off!
– He doesn’t look like it, but Basil has a weakness to go too fast sometimes (a need for speed) which gets him into trouble.
– House AI to Basil.
– Quince is uptight, proper and annoying.
– His guilty pleasure is eavesdropping and then gossiping about it.
– BFF with Filbert, Basil, Leo & Mr. Biscuits.
– Hazil loves fixing things and working on machinery.
– She is helpful, curious and relishes dizzying heights!
– Hazil is very calm, indulgent, and tolerant.
– House AI to Hazel.
– Peanut is very young, shy, sensitive and extremely aesthetic.
– He has trouble following directions and has self-esteem issues.
– He tries hard, but somehow the more he messes up, the more nervous he gets.
– BFF with Filbert, Hazil & Basil & Mr. Biscuits.
– Leo is an Astronomer, Inventor and Scientist.
– Famous for inventing the Sky Skimmer, Transporpad, & Sol Flowers.
– No one seems to care that he’s not a real medical doctor, so they tend to come to him with minor injuries and medical needs.
– He lives with the redoubtable Mr. Biscuits.
Crucial Help & Support Folks
– Rose is Filbert’s Sky Skimmer’s onboard AI who is very helpful, but thinks she gets airsick!
– For day-to-day travel and pure pleasure flying – Filbert likes going for Sunday drives and doing barrel rolls which make Rose nauseous.
– Each Sky Skimmer has an onboard AI to help navigate and fly, or it can be flown manually.
– Made of light weight plant cellulose fabric, with an anti-grav disk on the bottom.
– Stubby wings for maximum lift and an onboard noshery for flavorous nibbles and refreshments.
– Swarms are outdoor labor bots that help with all outdoor projects that need to be done.
– They are efficient, detail oriented, and highly skilled workers.
– They can, and will, talk back if you are wrong and stepping into their areas of expertise!
– Each swarm has a leader & several worker “bees.”
– Plants, trees & flowers are all sentient on A Dinky World.
– They have no filters and tend to say whatever is going through their minds which can lead to some interesting, if not brutal, conversations.
